In Europe carrot soup and dried powder of
carrot are prepared for the treatment of
infant diarrhea and undernourishment. In the carrot there are 5 pantetheine?kinds,
of which 4f-phosphopantetheine-S-Sulfonic
acid is physiologically the most active.
CALCIUM D-PANTETHEINE-S-SULFONATE (PaSSO3Ca) is of the same function as 4f-phosphopantetheine-S-Sulfonic
acid and exhibits growth progressing
activity. PaSSO3Ca includes the part structure of CoA which
partakes in energy metabolism.
PaSSO3Ca is white powder, soluble in water, ethanol,
proplylene glycol but insoluble liquid paraffin,
squalene, olive oil. It is 70% water solution is colorless to
slight yellowish viscous (600`1200 cp at 25) liquid with light characteristic odor.
Specific gravity is 1.30`1.40. APHA is 10`50. Optical rotation is +12.0`+15.0.

PaSSO3Ca inhibits tyrosinase activity from mashroom
(IC50=20.3mM)
Tyrosinase activity and melanin synthesis
in B16 mouse melanocyte are inhibited
by PaSSO3Ca by 50% at 100`1,000ΚM concentration.
PaSSO3Ca apparently suppress the increasing of
number of Dopa positive melanocyte.
2) UVB protection
PaSSO3Ca cream elevated the MED (Minimal Erythenal
Dose) value for 4-5 fold.
3) Anti-inflammatory effect
PaSSO3Ca reduced swelling of arthritis by subcutaneous
administration.
4) Hair Growth effect
PaSSO3Ca acceralates hair growth on depilated back
of mouse.
